Job Summary:As an IB PYP Teacher, you will create a dynamic and engaging learning environment for students in the primary years, focusing on inquiry-based learning, student agency, and the development of key skills and competencies. You will be responsible for designing and implementing lessons that align with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, fostering a global perspective, and encouraging critical thinking. Key Responsibilities: Planning and Delivery of Lessons:Design and deliver lessons that follow the IB PYP framework, ensuring they are inquiry-based, student-centered, and aligned with the curriculum.Incorporate a variety of teaching strategies and resources to address the diverse learning styles and needs of all students.Develop transdisciplinary units that encourage students to make connections between subjects and apply their learning in real-world contexts. Assessment and Reporting:Conduct ongoing formative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.Prepare and maintain accurate records of student performance and provide detailed feedback to students and parents.Engage in regular summative assessments, ensuring alignment with IB PYP standards and the school's assessment policy. Classroom Management:Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes mutual respect, collaboration, and self-management.Foster an atmosphere of curiosity, creativity, and open dialogue where all students feel valued and motivated to take risks in their learning.Collaboration and Professional Development:Collaborate with fellow teachers, administration, and support staff to ensure the delivery of a cohesive and integrated curriculum.Actively participate in professional development opportunities to further knowledge of the IB PYP framework and teaching practices.Engage with the broader school community through regular communication and involvement in school events, workshops, and initiatives. Student Wellbeing and Support:Support the social, emotional, and academic development of students, addressing individual learning needs and providing appropriate interventions.Encourage students to develop attributes of the IB Learner Profile, including being inquirers, communicators, and caring individuals. Parent and Community Engagement:Maintain open and effective communication with parents, keeping them informed of their child's progress and involving them in the learning process.Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and community outreach programs. Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required).IB PYP teaching experience or certification is preferred.Strong understanding of the IB PYP framework, inquiry-based learning, and assessment practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Strong organizational and time management skills.A passion for working with children and fostering a love for learning.Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
