Business Title: Senior Manager, Sales Planning Reports to: Head of Canada Sales Role Summary The Sales Planning Sr. Manager serves as a strategic advisor to the Head of Sales, providing analytical insights and driving improvements in Sales team execution. This role is critical in synthesizing and leveraging data to optimize sales performance and align planning processes across the organization. The position focuses on integrating gross to net sales, trade spend and profitability metrics for CHD customers into actionable insights, fostering a data-driven approach to decision-making. This role will have a direct report that will support on key strategic customers. This role is essential in ensuring that sales planning and execution processes are aligned, efficient, and responsive to both internal and external factors, ultimately driving sustainable growth. RESPONSIBILITIES Forecasting and Financial Management Collaborate with the Head of Sales, Sales Finance, and Directors to create accurate forecasts and robust financial plans. Manage all trade spend dollars, focusing on strategies to maximize overall profitability. Lead annual planning processes for Sales team; AQR and tracking of all risk and opportunities ; and development of quota assignment. Ensuring timely execution, data integrity, and alignment with strategic objectives. Partnering with sales finance, allocate and monitor customer trade funds to ensure ROI, budget compliance, and alignment with business goals. Evaluate trade fund investments and conduct profitability analyses to inform strategic decisions. Develop and maintain Qtrly customer internal scorecard for Top 4 customers to drive clarity internally on metrics such as Profit, cost to serve rate (inclusive of fines), & forecast tracking to Net Sales and JBP targets. Collaboration and Process Improvement Partner with Customer Teams, Sales Finance, and CSP teams to align strategies and improve financial oversight. Streamline processes, enhance forecasting tools, and drive continuous improvements. Enhance our Sales & Operations Planning process (Prophecy), including collaboration with commercial and operational stakeholders; Evaluate current forecast processes and tools to identify opportunities for improvement; Manage the Prophecy calendar to align with cross-functional activities. Manage Thor (forecasting tool) enhancements and ensure alignment of customer plans with corporate strategies. Oversee brand transitions within customer mix and channel strategies to optimize customer profitability and outcomes. Team Development, train and coach team members on best practices and continuous improvement. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · Bachelor’s Degree Required. · 6-8 years’ experience with emphasis on Trade Marketing, Field Sales and Sales Operations within a CPG Headquarters environment. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES In depth knowledge of retailer go to market strategies and class of trade /channel dynamics. Demonstrated strong analytical, financial management, business acumen and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of syndicated data systems, business analytics, and reporting methodologies. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills). Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI. Experience with analysis of retail promotion effectiveness and efficiency. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills). Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision and direction; ability to work both independently and as a critical member of multiple teams.
